About LegalLady

Once upon a time there was a LegalBaby who, with no small amount of effort, was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This LegalBaby was named Janine Dorothy. Even though she didn't know it yet, she was destined for great things.

As a LegalGirl, she graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. During her time there, Janine’s attention was drawn to reading and she spent hours in the library. Math and science were all but ignored. However, her mother, a teacher raising two children on her own, was not about to let her eldest daughter flounder in these important subjects. So with a renewed vigor and the support of her mother, Janine found new ways to approach these difficult subjects. Not only was she learning the basics of calculus and chemistry, but she was also learning how to approach complicated subjects with fresh eyes and a new perspective. It is this mindset that Janine brings to her work, which benefits all of her clients.

On she moved, emboldened by her newfound mastery of the hard sciences, to a foray into politics as a congressional page. Janine was appointed by none other than Joseph P. Kennedy II, and worked for then majority leader Dick Gephardt. Even at an early age she was taking on the responsibilities of LegalGirls three and five years her senior, attending important meetings and hobnobbing with dignitaries and pundits alike.

Janine then ventured to The George Washington University where she was one of only a few women to major in civil engineering. Her studies did not prevent her from staying involved in the campus community, though, as she became a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and Panhellenic President. Yearning to come back to her roots, Janine returned to Boston to attend Suffolk University Law School, seeking to build on her engineering knowledge with a law degree.

It was at Suffolk University Law School that Janine continued her busy schedule within the legal community by becoming a member of the patent moot court team and working as an intern for both the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). During her final year, Janine was selected to participate in the Juvenile Justice Clinic where she represented indigent juveniles and took part in her first jury trial. This not only gave her a taste of the courtroom but also moved her one step closer to her dream. Upon graduation, Janine finally became the LegalLady.

Janine went on to work at a New York law firm, where she honed her craft writing over 500 patent applications for all types of technologies. Her role there could not satisfy her constant desire for success, however, and after 10 months, with the urging of her mother and business acumen of her father, the LegalLady started her own firm. The Law Offices of J.D. Geraigery, P.C. is now the proud provider of high quality intellectual property protection at an affordable cost for over 150 clients.

The LegalLady currently lives and works in both New York City, NY and Cambridge, MA remaining mobile and reachable to her ever expanding client base. She's still rooted in her compulsion to help people through volunteering and community service, offering free inventor's workshops, speaking to law school classes, and coaching a local high school mock trial team. Somehow the LegalLady finds time for the simple things in life: travel, friends, and of course, rooting for her New England sports teams.

As you can see, Janine has come a long way in her quest from LegalBaby to LegalLady. With all of her accumulated experience and knowledge, let her help you achieve your goals.
